I learned a new idiom today and would like to share with you folks.

"water under the bridge."
Please guess what's that means?

The idiom means water under the bridge is live and once the water went away, it would not return again.
In Chinese, the idiom means:
桥下的水一旦流过,就永远流过了。就像我们古语里说的“逝者如斯夫”。既成事实；过去发生的事情，尤指不幸之事且不可改变或无法挽回.

The background about how I met the idiom is:
Recently, I am arguing with a foreigner about a technical issue. Finally, my thoughts was proved correct and the idea of counterpart is totally wrong .  Though the problem was solved, but we missed original schedule. Then the manager of the foreigner send me a email and referred the idiom: "water under the bridge", It took me some time to figure out what's the sentence really means. Now I get it, share with you folks! Hope it helps!
